Hi
i have 2 ssd and 1 hard disk

can i install the boot manager on disk 2 or 3 ?
and leave the disk 1 intact , untouched

everytime i tried to install a boot manager all the files went on the drive 1

my goal is install the boot manager on a drive without operation systems

because if i try to install to HD1 the TeraByte MBR will go to HD0

thanks

part of it has to go on the boot drive or it won't do anything. But the
manual install will allow you to assume a non-hd0 is hd0.

you do the manual install and answer yes to the question about assuming it
to be HD0

Just messing around with this and saw some strange results.

HD0 and HD2 were MBR disks. HD1 was EMBR.

8 MiB EMBRM is only partition on HD2. HD0 had no partitions.

Installed BIBM choosing..
Enable support for more than 4 primary partitions
Change all MBR type drives to EMBR
chose to do a Manual setup

HD0 and HD2 were still MBR disks. Both were then changed to EMBR.
The 8 MB partition on HD2 selected and clicked Setup
If I chose No for "Would you like setup to assume this drive is the boot drive?" all is OK. BIBM boots.

If I chose Yes for "Would you like setup to assume this drive is the boot drive?" all is not OK. BIBM doesn't boot and the message is "No Boot device available". Did I omit a step?

You'd have to change the BIOS to boot that second drive.
