BootIt BM freezes on boot
BootIt BM freezes on boot
I just upgraded my motherboard to an Intel DH87MC with UEFI/GPT. I have my Windows 8.1 image restored to one of the HDD's, and want to start partitioning that drive and my other two, but BootIt boots to the start screen and freezes; no keyboard, no mouse. What do I need to disable in the makedisc boxes to get it to where I can use it?

You have to enable the CSM (legacy or whatever else they call it) support.

Re: BootIt BM freezes on boot
which include legacy USB support if you have a USB keyboard.

Re: BootIt BM freezes on boot
I've been able to get BootIt Bare Metal to boot, but I get an error message to the effect that BootIt is unable to read an area of HD0 necessary to properly manage it. When I try to do anything with partitions, there are no hard drives in the drop down menu. Changing from BIOS to BIOS(direct) doesn't help - no hard drives, no partition work.

Re: BootIt BM freezes on boot
I would suspect the BIOS is not providing proper access or drive counts.
Look for an updated BIOS or option to allow the drive to work and show up in
the legacy mode (drive count - BIOS direct would still need the BIOS to
report a drive is available) - if you just need partwork and have a BIBM
key, you can use the IFL full boot disk to work around these limited BIOS
systems..
