lost partitions

Post by jahroud »

Hi I have 4 hard drives with a total of 9 partitions mounted on a PC (never more than 4 primaries on each drive). On bootit installation it asked if I want bootit to manage more than 4 primary partitions, and I clicked "no", After which I noticed that a whole hard drive with 3 partitions was converted to a single dynamic partition and all data have disappeared... Is there any way to bring it back to its previous state without losing any data, and therefore recovering my 3 original partitions? Thanks

That's what you'll see on a dynamic drive. Dynamic Drives are not
supported - you'll only see the items from windows. See

This hard drive was in another computer and I've put it in my new computer. As long as it was in the old system everything was ok, I could see all my data and partitions... Finally I found that I was a able to recover the partitions, changing the drive from "dynamic" to "basic". But I still don't know what happenned. Did I created myself dynamic drive in the old system? If yes, why could I read it before in windows and not now?
