Internally, I prefer SATA cables with a 90 degree angle & spring
clip......those are great!
Externally, I have little trouble with those eSATA cables.

I only use the clipped type now too and have a mixture of straight and
right-angled ones ready.

Re: BIOS and USB mice
I would add a second to the power supply suggestion - I have had several Antec supplies go "goofy" on me - strange reboots, odd things happening etc (and I had one where one of the caps in the supply vanished in a flash, leaving only two leads stuck up from the PCB in the supply). Another thing to check for - look for any bulging caps on the MB - there have been many issues over the years with failed electrolytic caps. The "X" on the top of the cap should be flat, not bulging or leaking. I have switched to using Corsair TX series supplies and not had a failure in quite a while (I leave my machines up 24/7).
