I recently purchased licenses for the current range of Terabyte imaging
products and BIBM after using BING for many years.

As I understand it, BIBM cannot be used on UEFI systems.

I have a computer with UEFI and have successfully made a bootable IFL
(V2.83) flash drive which can image its partitions, (and presumably restore
them, though I've been too cautious to try this out).

(There is the option in Settings of disabling secure boot, but the system
would still be UEFI).

However, is there any tool available for working with partitions on this
UEFI system - (eg re-size, create, remove, slide etc).

Wonder what people are using for these tasks?

UEFI simply sits atop the BIOS to give more functionality.

Biggest problem is GPT on a boot drive......and Secure Boot.

AIUI, BIBM can be used to manipulate partitions, it just cannot be installed or used as a boot manager.

Thanks. That's encouraging.
However, I couldn't find any reference to this in the BIBM manual.
And the Terabyte knowledge base, article.php?id=572 simply says:-

"BootIt Bare Metal will not boot on UEFI systems configured in UEFI mode.
To boot on these systems Secure Boot must be disabled and you must enable
or use Legacy mode."

I suppose I could try making a bootable CD or flash drive with BIBM but,
even if it appears to work, I would like to know if it is safe to use BIBM
on UEFI systems for partition work.

BIBM supports GPT drives for partitioning work. The problem is only that the system must support booting in Legacy mode (the BIBM boot media does not support UEFI booting or Secure Boot). Most UEFI systems support booting in Legacy mode, so this is usually not a problem.

My wife's Asus tablet only supports UEFI boot. No legacy. I booted a TBWinRE UFD in UEFI mode and then used TBOSDT for BootIt to do some partitioning work. It worked fine. I would have preferred to use BIBM but I could not.

we'll include Partition Work for Linux on the IFL boot disk an upcoming
update to IFL for those who have a BIBM license as well.

Hey guys, I accidentally stumbled upon this thread ... what a shock !!!

Next week I'm getting the new Asus mATX Gryphon mobo, to use with core i7 4770k. I was looking forawrd to using the UEFI for safe overclocking, etc. Now I find that there is a major compatability issue !! So after last night's panic and searching all about UEFI, GPT, image backup compatable software, I'll ask some questions calmly.

I believe I can NOT install BIBM when UEFI is used, but can if I boot in legacy mode ... if my mobo allows.
1. If I decide to use legacy boot ... then will my system will be unable to boot in UEFI mode ?
Also visa versa, would a UEFI system be able to boot in legacy, if the bios is changed, using the UEFI drives ?
2. If I decide to go with UEFI ... I can't install BIBM, but can if I disable "Secure Boot" can I boot from a BIBM cd ?
The aim here is for image bu and restore work only.
3. I assume all new mobo will be going UEFI, as will new windows versions, is this the end of BootIt ?
I love BootIt and am really hoping not.

I'm surprised that something like this isn't "sticky" due to the huge ramifications for anyone upgrading their pc.

You can boot it from boot media and use it, but not install it in that mode.
