Reactivating BIBM

I wanted to make sure I could boot from the BIBM disk and use the "Installation & Recovery Boot Menu" to reactivate BIBM if my MBR was overwritten, even though the MBR was fine and nothing had happended to it. I wanted to do this in anticpation of the MBR being overwritten by an install of Solaris 11.1 before I tried the install itself.
So I booted from my BIBM disk, everything worked correctly, and I was shown the "Installation & Recovery Boot Menu". When that menu came up, only the last item on the menu was enabled "Upgrade BootIt Bare Metal" and none of the other items on the menu were enabled or could be chosen.
Is this normal ?
Is the menu item "Reactivate BootIt Bare Metal" disabled if the bootup disk realizes that BootIt is still activaed and controlling the MBR ? The documentation implies this when it says "Select to reactivate BootIt BM if it was deactivated after installing a new operating system (such as Windows) or by using the Deactivate option on the uninstall dialog" but I just want to make sure this is normal when the MBR is still intact as it will be crucial to reactivate BIBM if the MBR gets overwritten by an install.
What about the other menu items, all disabled. Why is this ? When would I ordinarily need to use any of these other items when booting from disk. They are all disabled which suggests they have no functionality in my present situation but there must be a case when they are enabled and have some use. I did not find any explanation of these other items in the doc, so I am asking here.
