rEFIt alternative

Is there a way to use this on a Mac machine, to install a whole series of OSes on bare metal. I don't like using rEFIt, and this has worked like a charm on my PC. I don't imagine it would be different, technically the hardware for a Mac pro is the same as much of the PCs I have. Just a special video card with mini-display ports.

Would it work? and would I still be able to install Mac OS X as one of the options?

How about a PC with the proper Intel chips, and supported hardware, and doing things the same as one would on a PC, but having one of those partitions as MAC OS X? or a Hackintosh version?

If the previous question, or this one would be possible, or if there's work being done to permit the first type to be a possibility, there's an entire set of users that would also flock to BootBM (Next version of it) for that possibility. Is this in the works? :D
